I enjoyed doing the slide and the A to Z. The slide was a bit tricky I had to work on it for three days long. I can try to work hard to do it in tow reading sessions.

Covid-19 Level 2 Writing

WALT explain what the rules are at Level 2 and what we think about it.

What I think about the Level 2 of lockdown is a little excessive and a bit annoying because we cannot walk around in the class and sit by our friends.
In Level 2 you can’t touch other people unless their family. For Level 2 in Northland, New Zealand it is only going to last until maybe the weekend? We can not go as close as 5 cm to people, we have to stay 2 meters away from people we don’t know and 1 meter away from people we do know. You touch only the things you want to buy. Stay a meter away when defending in basketball at school for. Don’t touch people or try to touch them at school, at home it is fine. In Level 2 there are not allowed to be gatherings over one hundred. We were supposed to have a cross country on Thursday but because of Covid-19 it got postponed to a different date and our assembly was canceled to a different date too. Covid-19 is a pan because you can not play soccer, rugby or have gymnastic competition.

Blood Sugar - Diabetes

2. I learnt about how you can get type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and how you can cure type 2 diabetes. and there are some very tricky and interesting worlds in the text.

Why do our muscles get tired?

WALT use our reading strategies to find information in the text.
I learnt about muscles fatigue and how you get it.
You get muscle fatigue if your muscles are not getting enough oxygen and energy to them fast enough. I enjoyed learning about muscles fatigue and how you can avoid it.
I found understanding some words tricky and interesting.
My group found some of the vocabulary tricky but our teacher helped us figure it out.
I can do some vocabulary better.

Copper complexes: MEL science

Copper complexes

today my sister and I did a science experiment called "copper complexes".  Here are the chemicals we used in this experiment.

1. Sodium Sulphur
2. Sodium Chlorine (table salt solution)
3. Ammonium carbonate
4. Copper Sulphate
5.  three vials 6ml capacity

I am going to tell you a story, a real story about chemistry. It is a story of beautiful colours and reactions. We can't see the reactions, apart from observing the results, but it's chemistry...and it's beautiful.

Yesterday something exiting happened, we did a Mel science experiment.  We learned that you can use one chemical (like Copper Sulphate) to find out unknown chemicals, just by looking at the results. That's what I am going to tell you about.  At first the science experiment was boring because the chemicals were transparent and colourless. But when we  added the copper sulphate each chemical had a unique colour, the first reaction was a urine yellow colour, the second reaction was an ocean green colour and the third reaction was a royal blue colour. The reactions were amazing. Even though science is very complicated I still love exploring it. We were not allowed to taste the chemicals and my dad had to expose of it according to the instructions.

What!!! It changed colour!!!

Matariki

We are  learning all about Matariki.

We have been learning about Matariki and how Matariki was so important in the olden days. Something that interested me about Matariki was that they made kites instead of making a cake.   

I found that they did not use fireworks to celebrate was interesting.It surprised me that there are five hundred  Matariki stars, but only seven can be seen with the naked eye. I enjoyed learning about Matariki and what they did to celebrate it.                        

I found reading some Maori words tricky to  read. I  did my scratch project really well and I can do some more code for my avatars.

Celebrating Puanga at Ramanui

WALT find out what students at one school do to celebrate the Māori New Year. WALT to use the main ideas to summaries the text.My group are learning about puanga. Puanga is a stare in Taranaki. In Taranaki there is a school called Ramanui that used punaga to tell them that it was Matariki. I enjoyed learning about how Ramanui school celebrated the Maori New year.   I said some Maori words correctly and some I needed some help. It was tricky saying the Maori words in the book. I can extend myself by reading faster and louder.
