We are learning all about Matariki.
We have been learning about Matariki and how Matariki was so important in the olden days. Something that interested me about Matariki was that they made kites instead of making a cake.
I found that they did not use fireworks to celebrate was interesting. It surprised me that there are five hundred Matariki stars, but only seven can be seen with the naked eye. I enjoyed learning about Matariki and what they did to celebrate it.
I found reading some Maori words tricky to read. I did my scratch project really well and I can do some more code for my avatars.
Hi Edmon, you chose lots of creative ways to share your learning about Matariki. I thought you did a good job on your Scratch animation even though I know you have a bit more to do, you made a great start. Manu tukutuku are an important part of Matariki celebrations and our class had so much fun trying to fly the kites. What was your favourite piece of art? Which one did you find the most tricky?
