 WALT: Write a narrative

Tsunami Warning Friday 5/03/21  

Last Friday when we were in class, Yvette got a Tsunami warning on her phone, when she got the warning we packed our bags and made our way to the Whare.  When we got to the whare Mrs Stevenson  told us what was going to happen.  After Mrs Stevenson told us what was going to happen we started to walk to the top of our Maunga. While we were walking up the Maunga I kept getting pricked by the gorse.  After a few minutes of walking we stopped for a break then we started to walk again.  Then we stopped at the highest point of Paparore school Maunga named Ngatu.  While we were at the highest point of the Maunga, Jacob and I dug a huge hole. When I finished digging I looked around me and saw an entire town and I could see our lake, then Sir came with the gazebo and we all moved  down and had some kia and a sausage sizzle. After eating the sausage sizzle we had some school waita and we sounded amazing.  Then the Tsunami Warning was over at last!  

Then we went down the maunga and through Yvettes paddock.  While walking through Yvettes paddock me and Samson were peeking at some flowers and I gave them to Lucy, Grace, Hemi and Grace's doll.  When we got back to school I went to the toilet and it was such a relief to wash my hands after digging in the soil.  

When we went to line up for bus lines Richard's bus line got a new bus to drive in for that day.  But when they left we had the last of the sausage sizzle. Then Lance was late so we all got into different cars with the teacher. After a while me and my sister got off at our bus stop, because Mrs Davan called my Mum and she called my Dad who came to pick us up. Dad asked me what happened at school today and it was a long, long, long  story to tell.

This morning

Getting out of bed

This morning when I got out of bed I listened to my Mum turn on the bathroom light and A/C.  After I listened to the bathroom light and A/C go on I put on my fluffy slippers and cosy jacket.  Then I went to greet my Mother and help her pack our yummy dilutions lunch.    

Breakfast

After we packed our yummy lunch we ate some breakfast.  I was eating rusks with Milo, my sister was eating rice bubbles, my Mum was eating corn flakes and my dad was also eating rice bubbles.  After we ate I got dressed and brushed my teeth.

Travailing to school

When we finished eating, my sister and I packed our bags and got into my Mum’s new electric car.  Then my Mum drove us to school, on the way to school I heard suckadas ZZZing and birds cherping  and I observed butterfly colours and listened to butterfly sounds.  Then we arrived at our beautiful and amazing school.

3. There are 2 documents. How many Maori chiefs signed the pakeha version? Less than 40 Maori chiefs signed the pakeha version. How many Maori chiefs signed the Maori version? More than 500 Maori chiefs signed the Maori version. And why? Because the Maori could not read or write English. 

 

4. Why was the Treaty written?

The purpose of the Treaty was to enable to British settlers and Maori people to live together in New Zealand under a common set of laws and to bring peace to the land.

5. Where was the Treaty signed?

6. Write five laws.

1. You must wear a seat belt.

2. 100km,70km and 50km you must obey the law.

3. You can cache seven fish per person. 

4. You have to attend school.

5. You need a current driver's license to be allowed to drive a vehicle. 

7. What is the difference between a Treaty and a  Law?  A law is something that you have to follow and

a treaty is an agreement between two or more people.

8. The only Treaties that we have is I am not allowed to fart on the table and me and my sister have

to feed the pet.

Story starter!

The wind rushed through his hair as he descended the mountain at great speed.  For most children this would be an exhilarating, even terrifying experience, but for Edmon it was just an ordinary journey to school…

Problem

The wire snaps, the sound the wire made before it snapped was a sudden snap, this is the sound it made creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak!  Edmon falls onto the ground, but as he is falling he feels like the wind is trying to stop him from falling but then one minute later he is on the ground with a broken right arm, then when he wakes up from being knocked out he is very hungry.

Another Problem

But when he reached for his lunchbox he released that he dropped his bag. Now he is stranded and has nothing to eat except mango’s but at least he know the way to school, but one time it took him two hours to get there by foot, and his school only lasts for two hour’s but there was a short cut to school that no one  knows about it is also scary but the crutches are really nice.

      Conclusion

But when Edmon entered one of the creatures helped him to get to school on time so the teacher would not be mad at him for being late to school.  This is how he got to school without his ordinary journey to school.

Water Safety

WALT know what a rip looks like at the beach. The difference between a rip and no rip is if it is green it is mean and if it is white it is alright.  We also learnt how to save someone with out getting into the water. Another way to stay safe is if you are on a patrolled beach, you should stay in between the flags.

Paddle Boarding

Last Monday three classes named Te Kuaru, Te Puawai and my class Te Manga went paddle boarding at Lake Ngatu. We had two Guides called Joe and Scotty, they talked to us and when they finished talking then the first group went out to go for paddle boarding and the rest of us went to play in the shallow water and play on the sand to make some huge puddles and rivers. When it was our turn we got to jump off in the middle of the lake. After a while there was a sausage sizzle and a swim.
