Arbor Day Tree planting
23/6/21
WALT: write an Incredible Recount
On Tuesday our class went to Lake Ngatu at nine AM we were all walking to . It took the school a few minutes to reach Lake Ngatu, when we got there Cleo and Dony did karakia and Mihi. We went to plant some trees around the lake to help it to stay clean.
After we had a korero about the planting we got put into our groups, my group was Daniёlle, my mum Janene, Tyson and Jacob. Our group planted sixty or seventy flax, Manuka trees and Kanuka trees.
Jacob and I got the plants, Tyson Parker and my sister planted them and my mum dug most of the holes. Jacob and I planted some plants. The mud was mushy and soft. Jacob’s hand’s were really, really dirty just like my hand’s. The mud was a bit fun to play in.
When Arbor Day was completed we went back to school, while we were almost at school we made a tunnel and gave the parents a mighty pakipaki. Then when we were on the field the lunch bell rang and we had a bit of lunch and play time for the end of the day. It was an amazing day but it also a fraction of it felt like a field trip to the lake.
