Arbor Day

Arbor Day Tree planting

23/6/21

WALT: write an Incredible Recount

On Tuesday our class went to Lake Ngatu at nine AM we were all walking to . It took the school a few minutes to reach Lake Ngatu, when we got there Cleo and Dony did karakia and Mihi. We went to plant some trees around the lake to help it to stay clean.

After  we had a korero about the planting we got put into our groups, my group was DaniŃ‘lle, my mum Janene, Tyson and Jacob. Our group planted sixty or seventy flax, Manuka trees and Kanuka trees.

Jacob and I got the plants, Tyson Parker and my sister planted them and my mum dug most of the holes. Jacob and I planted some plants. The mud was mushy and soft.  Jacob’s hand’s were really, really dirty just like my hand’s. The mud was a bit fun to play in.

When  Arbor Day was completed we went back to school, while we were  almost at school we made a tunnel and gave the parents a mighty pakipaki. Then when we were on the field the lunch bell rang and we had a bit of lunch and play time for the end of the day. It was an amazing day but it also a fraction of it felt like a field trip to the lake.

My Pet

My cat Lexi is the best, she always wants love all day everyday.  She is black, white  and brown with sparkling eyes.  She is the best company  to  have around when you're feeling down.

She is as cuddly as an ice bear.  Lexi always comes up to me when me and my sister are playing outside on the trampoline.  Or when I'm feeling sad she cuddles up to me or lets me pick her up and carry her around the house.

We got her in the first year that we lived in Northland.  It looked like she was only a few weeks old.  This was in the morning on our way to school but she had fleas so dad said, “Let's see if she stays overnight and if she is still there in the morning then we will give her a bath and  keep her.”  We went to sleep,  that morning she was still there and we fed her and gave her water.  Lexi is as smart as an elephant.

My cat is fast when she is hunting  for mice or birds.  She runs super fast and when the mouse or bird gets away  she runs after it so fast that sometimes the animal does not  get very far before she catches them.  Sometimes she plays with her food before eating it.

my person

WALT: Describe my person in detail

My dad is the best, his hair is smooth, fluffy, blond mixed with black, his hair is as bright as the sun.  My dad is happy to be alone and to do work around the house and his smile can light up  the dark.  He helps us to understand things like how earth spins and how wind is made and anything we ask he will help us understand, his knowledge is similar to an elephant's knowledge and their knowledge is fantastic.  When we get home he is super happy to see us and wants to know what we did at school, and sometimes we ask him what he did at home, sometimes he is really, really fun.  He is as tall as a giraffe.  He is amazing at sports like, rugby, cricket, and soccer.  When he was a kid he played rugby and broke his arm in a scrum and they thought it was just badly sprained and not broken.

My dad’s favourite place is the stardome in Auckland.  There is a playground behind the star dome. When you enter the star dome there are toys on your left and some cool things about space, telescopes and when you walk forward there is where they tell you about the constellations and space.
