Kia Ora, my name is Edmon and today I’m going to tell you about what my mum and dad taught me in life. They taught m e integrity, respect, excellence and manners. They showed m e how to b e honest and trustworthy. It's important to respect yourself and your friends as well as your parents and teachers. They taught me to set learning goals for myself, for example doing hard maths and to read chapter books that are complicated. To do writing that takes about a w e ek and two days to finish and it has to have descriptives ent enc es. It is fun challenging myself. They taught m e to never give up and keep on trying. “Thank you” and “please” are small words, but they are super important. Remember to use your manners wherever you go. My elders taught m e to love and care for everything that I have and everyone that is part of my family or friends. They also taught m e to think for myself and just get on with it and don’t get distracted or you will do it wrong. My elders taught m e to clean up after myself and clean up after other people if they made a mess, in other words, to care for my environment My dad also taught m e to play rugby, soccer, cricket and how to use a bow and arrow. I train every chance elget. We have an old surfboard that I shoot at with my arrows. There are a lot of holmes and some of them are made by my dad's gun and my gun. It is really fun shooting. One day I hope my dad and I can go hunting with a bow and arrow. My dad also taught me a lot about science and w e do science experiments in the school holidays. It is fun seeing the chemical reaction that the ingredients make when they mix. He also showed me how to do computer programming, but I still have a looooooooong way to go. These are just a few of the things that my parents taught me. I am very lucky to have parents and teachers to teach m e everything I need to know. I love learning new things and are very grateful for all the things I already have.
