Science experiment: The chemistry of winter

Science experiment: The chemistry of winter

My sister and I belong to a science club called Mel science. We receive a chemistry set in the mailbox
each month. Last month’s set included “fake snow” and “snow on a tree”. We did the “snow on a tree”
experiment yesterday, and this is how it went.

The experiment included tap water, hot water, table salt, potassium ferrocyanide, a paper tree, a beaker,
a pipet, a petri dish, a vial and liquid soap.

First, we mixed the potassium ferrocyanide with the table salt. Then my mum poured some tap water into
the vial. Now my dad had to shake the vial extremely well. Next my dad put the vial into the hot water for
five minutes, after the five minutes where over he poured the mixture into the petri dish. We put the tree
into the petri dish, we left it for 12  hours. It amazed us at how it looked. Because it had fake snow all over
the tree!!! You might wonder how the snow got on the tree… Well, the tree sucked up the mixture the
same way a paper towel sucks up water. After the liquid mixture (now on the tree) dried out, it left only the
salt crystals. This is the “snow” that was on the tree!

We looked at the salt crystals under the microscope, and this is what we saw.

Kawa of Care Assembly - Draft Writing

WALT understand' kawa of care'. WALT write a recount about our assembly experience.

Check out my draft writing...

Two Fridays ago my class and I had an assembly called kawa of care. At the beginning our class did some dance moves  ***** dancing into the whare to music. I did the moon wake.In my group there was Larell, Kaydee, and me. Our assembly was in the hall. Then it was my group’s turn, and I was nervous and I also think that my gourd was nervous too. Larell, kaydee and me crashed into each other throwing books into the air the audience was *** laughing, and thought  they were real chromebooks. Before our group chase,Mihi and KODA had their play. Their play was called no food or drink near your device. After chase said ‘’ I wonder what will happen if we eat near our device’’ then there was a video played on screen. The video was them doing the wrong thing they were eating and drinking by their chromebooks and there was a cool sound evict on it, at the end we shouted out follow the kawa of care!  I felt macfixit, wonderful and fantastic.
