WALT know what a rip looks like at the beach. The difference between a rip and no rip is if it is green it is mean and if it is white it is alright. We also learnt how to save someone with out getting into the water. Another way to stay safe is if you are on a patrolled beach, you should stay in between the flags.
I am a Year 5 student at Paparore School School in Northland, New Zealand. Mrs Junjovich is my teacher. My blog is a collection of my work at various stages, across different curriculum areas. Throughout my time at Paparore School I may share draft copies of my work for feedback and feed forward. Other times I will share my final published pieces. I would appreciate any feedback through leaving me a positive, thoughtful, helpful comment. Thank you

Paddle Boarding
Last Monday three classes named Te Kuaru, Te Puawai and my class Te Manga went paddle boarding at Lake Ngatu. We had two Guides called Joe and Scotty, they talked to us and when they finished talking then the first group went out to go for paddle boarding and the rest of us went to play in the shallow water and play on the sand to make some huge puddles and rivers. When it was our turn we got to jump off in the middle of the lake. After a while there was a sausage sizzle and a swim.
Camp Thank-you Card
Three days after camp we started to write thank-you letters to some of the helpers from camp. Some letters were long some were short but they all were fantastic. All of the parents that came on camp will love the thank-you letters.

Mad Science
WALT predict and explain what is happening during our science experiments.
Last Friday my class and I did some science. My favourite science experiment was the lava in a cup because it was like a real volcano, we used water, oil and salt to make the amazing effects, the effects were like a real volcano, the salt was dissolving which made the lava like bubbles. My second favourite experiment was the magic milk we had Te Pihi one of the junior classes came to watch us do the magic milk, the ingredients were milk, dish wash soap and food colouring. My last favourite experiment was the crawling colours, the ingredients were water food colouring and paper towel.
